Anonymous asked: For every relationship I've been in... for at least part of each relationship, I've been The Other Woman. I am so disgusted with myself, yet I've pretty much resigned myself to believe that this is all I'm worth, so I might as well take what I can get because I'm not good enough to be anybody's priority. I know you can't really cure my self-esteem issues, but do you have any advice for how to convince myself (and others) that I'm worth more than that?
You’re right—I can’t cure your self-esteem issues, but you can. You’ve already taken steps in the right direction in determining that you are, in fact, worth more than just being The Other Woman. Convincing yourself that you’re worth more than you are takes longer than just running away the moment you realize you are in the position of The Other Woman again. The self-esteem issues will resolve themselves if you surround yourself with good people that love you—not only romantic, but also friends and family.
